Coming Spring 2026!

Our second Upward Sports Flag Football and Cheerleading League will begin this coming spring.

Who can play?

Flag football is open to boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Cheerleading is open to girls in Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

When are evaluations?

Evaluations are Saturday, February 21st from 10 am - 1 pm. Each flag football athlete must attend evaluations. Drop by anytime between the designated times. This is not a try-out. Evaluations help us build equal teams. There are no evaluations for cheerleaders, but you are welcome to stop by to meet some of our volunteers and see the field.

What should I expect?

You can expect one practice or one game per week. All practices and games will be held on Saturdays. We anticipate practices and games will be scheduled between 11 am and 2:30 pm. The league will include team devotions all while athletes make new friends, gain equal playing time, and learn healthy competition.

How much does it cost to play?

Registration of $75 per child includes a t-shirt, flag belt, and more for flag football players. Cheerleaders receive a uniform, pom poms, and more. You may pay by card during online registration or cash or check at evaluations. Payment is due no later than Saturday, February 21st. Discounts are available if registering multiple children.

When are practices and games?

Practices begin on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The first game is Saturday, March 21, 2026. The final game will be no later than Saturday, May 16, 2026. See the next section below or visit our Events Page for all practice and game day dates.

All practices games are scheduled to be held on the Church's field. Bring a chair and cheer on our athletes! Any changes to practice or game day schedules will be shared via email, text, or posted to your team's page.

Interested in volunteering?

We need help to make this league a success for all players and cheerleaders. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or referee, click the button below. No experience is required. We are planning a coach and referee training session on Tuesday, February 10th at 6:30 pm. Upward Sports provides everything you need to make the season great.
